Born out of Marcus Food Company, a highly-respected, family-run organization that has been doing business in the protein industry for more than 40 years, Marcus Technologies is more than a protein trading company. We're building the digital infrastructure of the protein industry.

Sam Marcus founds Excel Packing Company.
1970
Sam Marcus takes Excel public as Kansas Beef Industries.
1979
Marcus family sells Kansas Beef Industries to Cargill.
1980
Howard Marcus forms Marcus Food Company to facilitate buyer’s purchasing needs in both food-service and retail.
1984
Howard Marcus launches Buckhead Beef Company.
1999
Howard Marcus sells Buckhead Beef Company to Sysco Foods.
2016
Billy Marcus forms Marcus Technologies to develop a modern, cloud-based protein trading platform.
